Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic Multi-Signed Hat w/Roger Maris (6) (PSA)
Displayed is an impressive hat that originated from the Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic. The offered hat is from an unknown year. The Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic was held at the Kingsmill Country Club in Virginia, from 1977-1995. The white hat has gold colored trim and gold colored decorative foliage on its brim. The hat's front label reads, "Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic." The hat has no set size, but rather uses an adjustable band. Great New York Yankee slugger Roger Maris, who broke Babe Ruth's single-season home run record of 60 round-trippers in 1961 when Maris hit 61 homers, signed the hat on the bill. Maris, who later played for the St. Louis Cardinals, owned by Anheuser-Busch owner Gussy Busch, was awarded an Anheuser-Busch beer distributorship by Busch. The hat has six autographs, three of which are identifiable. Each of the autographs has been signed using blue ink from a ballpoint pen. In addition to the Maris signature, the hat also has autographs from golfing great Hale Irwin and baseball player/commentator Joe Garagiola. The hat is in excellent condition. The signed hat comes with a PSA LOA.
