Aptitude, Borrego and Haynesfield Winning Jockey Club Gold Cup Race Worn Saddle Cloths
This plentiful lot includes the three winning saddle cloths from the 2001, 2005 and 2010 editions of the historic Jockey Club Gold Cup, the past winners of which are a veritable Who's Who of award-winning Hall of Fame horses, including Man O'War, War Admiral, Citation, Whirlaway, Gallant Fox, Nashua (twice), Buckpasser, Damascus, Forego, John Henry, Affirmed, Easy Goer, Skip Away and Curlin. The great gelding Kelso won the race a record five times. The 1978 running matched up Affirmed and Seattle Slew, marking the first time two Triple Crown winners faced one another on the track.
