Arthur Ashe Single Signed Game Used U.S. Open Tennis Ball

Arthur Ashe Single Signed Game Used U.S. Open Tennis Ball

During his spectacular career, Arthur Ashe was known for his class and grace - both on the court and off - as well as for his athleticism. This item is something we have never seen before; a single-signed ball of the era from this athlete who transcended his sport. The ball itself is a "Wilson US Ppen 3" in white (yes, they did use white tennis balls back then!). Black marker vintage signature is NRMT. Comes with 1965 wire photo and copy, which tells of of Arthur Ashe, "22 year old negro" in the U.S. Open. Ashe won 818 matches and 35 titles in his epic career, which was enough for induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
