It appears that Cobb is explaining the use of his split-handed grip to the Babe, who looks intently at the position of Cobb’s hands. Ruth is dressed in Yankee pinstripes, Cobb in Philadelphia Athletics uniform, dating this photo to the 1927 or 1928 seasons - Cobb’s final season, or the season in which Ruth would hit 60 home runs, setting the single-season home run record which stood for 34 years. Together in Yankee Stadium, the two largest sports figures of the era meet for one of their last match-ups ever. This timeless photo is preserved in its original plain black frame in NRMT condition.
