Babe Ruth Gets Drunk Signed Check!

Babe Ruth Gets Drunk Signed Check!

While the Babe's exploits on the field are known to even the most casual of baseball fans, legend has it that his off-field antics were equally as exciting. In fact, it was once stated by a teammate that the great Bambino could drink a bath tub full of beer and two bottles of Rye in one sitting. Presented is a symbol of Ruth's indulgent lifestyle - a personal bank check, which the Babe has made payable to "Lido Wine & Liquor" in the amount of "Thirty Six no/100" Dollars (a lot of liquor in 1942). The bold black fountain pen script rates NRMT or better, with the exception of some light feathering in the "G" of the "GH Ruth" signature. The document itself shows one small tear along the bottom edge (far away from the coveted signature and writing) and several light fold lines, but otherwise grades NRMT.
