Babe Ruth Signed 1939 New York World's Fair Coaster
This coaster was signed by Babe Ruth at the famed Academy of Sport during the 1939 New York World's Fair. The baseball-shaped coaster measures 3.25" in diameter and bears The Babe's beautiful signature in black fountain pen ink. Directly above Ruth's signature, on the edge of the coaster, is a small glue stain from originally being kept in a scrapbook. The coaster has been dated by the owner in pencil, "Dec 6th, 1941". These coasters were given to "Meet the Stars and Champions of Sport" patrons. The side with baseball markings shows a facsimile Babe Ruth signature, while the other side has the real deal. Signature is MT.
