Babe Ruth Signed Photograph Personalized to Baseball Writer F. C. Lane (PSA)
Vintage photo of Babe Ruth, inscribed by Ruth to noted baseball writer F. C. Lane. PSA has encapsulated the photo and certified the signature as "Authentic." Ruth has inscribed the photo in blue fountain pen atop his image "To/F. C. Lane/Best Wishes/Babe Ruth." Both the inscription and signature contrast beautifully against the light background of Ruth's suit and grade 8/10 overall. F. C. Lane was a prolific baseball writer and the editor of Baseball Magazine from 1912 through 1937. Lane interviewed Ruth countless times over the years and they were obviously friends, as indicated by this outstanding personalized photo. The photo (8x10"), produced by "Underwood" (as noted in print along the base) displays a few very light surface wrinkles and a tiny abrasion speck near the right border (none of which affect the inscription or signature).
