Baseball Centennial First Day Cover Lot (6)

Baseball Centennial First Day Cover Lot (6)

In 1939, our National Passtime celebrated it's first hundred years. As part of the festivities, the US Postal Service offered a great variety of first day covers depicting great moments in baseball history. Presented are six covers dated June 12, 1939 and postmarked Cooperstown , New York. They incude the earliest known baseball print, John Mcgraw HOF plaque, Edward L. Grant ( 1st big league player to die in action WW1) and three variations on the Centennnial logo designed for the event. All are in excellent condition and make a great display lot.
