Beatles Butcher Cover

Beatles Butcher Cover

The Beatles “Butcher Baby” Album Cover. The Beatles Yesterday And Today album with the controversial U.S. cover of the Beatles dressed in white frocks as butchers with limbs of baby dolls and fresh meat all covered in blood. The Beatles released this cover as a rebellion of sorts. They were upset with Capitol Records (their U.S.A. record company) who were taking their original British releases and “butchering” them. The U.S. releases were compilations of their current British LP projects with their newest songs mixed with older material. Hence, the title Yesterday And Today. Unfortunately, they eventually had to give in to corporate demands and the butcher covers were recalled by Capital records and taken off the shelves. This original butcher cover shows some wear especially along the corners and has a few scratches. It does not appear to have been covered over with the new cover Capital produced featuring the Fab Four around a trunk. The LP is included and is NRMT, the cover is EX-MT.
