Beautiful Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball

Beautiful Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more impressive Babe Ruth baseball than this 1930s model. Though it falls short of a MINT grade, this treasure has great eye appeal and character, just like the man who signed it, and is in EX condition. The signature is in black fountain ink and rates 7.5/10. The Carr Official League Ball is consistently toned with a lovely, even color to it and features red and black stitching. America's greatest sports legend, George Herman "Babe" Ruth transcended baseball and was an icon of his time and beyond. The original Hall of Fame outfielder saved the game of baseball back in 1919 when he began crushing balls out of American League ballparks, hitting them further than anyone before him. After having proving himself as a top-flight pitcher with the Boston Red Sox, Ruth was unceremoniously traded away in a strictly cash move to the Yankees, where he became the heart of a lineup that won seven pennants and four World Series titles during his tenure. The "Sultan of Swat" was distinguished primarily by his home run prowess, winning 12 home run titles, becoming the first player ever to slug 60 dingers in a season and retiring with a then-record 714 homers all-time. But Ruth was a skilled hitter overall, compiling a sensational .342 career batting average and phenomenal .690 lifetime slugging percentage. Off the field, "The Bambino" was a true character, known for his partying, carousing and womanizing. He died at the age of 53, but his legend has only grown in the ensuing half-century-plus.
