Bobby Orr First Program Cover Printing Plate

Bobby Orr First Program Cover Printing Plate

Metal printing plate with Bobby Orr's earliest cover appearance -- apparently 1 of only 4 known to exist. Plate was used to produce the cover and back of the 1963-64 Oshawa Generals game program featuring the young Orr on the front. Gray 14 x 17 3/4" plate has Orr skating with his stick in hands next to comic renderings of bad-driving "birds to beware of" such as the Half-Blind Loon and Nocturnal Dimwit. Plate is perforated at top and bottom and has some ink and other damage in spots. Overall VG. Perhaps the most esoteric Orr piece to be found. The printed program is extremely rare and sells for well over $1000!
