Bobby Wallace Signed Photo (PSA)
Presented is a very rare, signed photograph of Hall of Fame shortstop Bobby Wallace. Wallace signed the cut 4.9x7.3" newspaper photo in black ink from a fountain pen. Bobby Wallace played 25 seasons in the Major Leagues, 15 of those years with the St. Louis Browns of the American League. Wallace is considered to be the top shortstop in the American League when he played for the Browns from 1902-1911. He batted a lifetime .268. Wallace also became both a Major League manager and an umpire, but his true love was for playing the game. "If I disliked managing," he later said, "I liked umpiring even less." The photo was taken in an unspecified year. Wallace is depicted in his stance, batting right-handed and choking up on his thick-handled bat. The cut photo has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA certified as Authentic Auto. The signed photo value rests in its rarity, especially so for a Hall of Famer.
