Book Signed by Maris and (20) Additional Greats
Twenty-three in all great signatures throughout this 1981 paperback book, “Baseball’s 100", by New York Post columnist Maury Allen. Imagine twenty-three autographs correlating with any list in a publication touting the greatest of any sport; here it is, including Rose, DiMaggio, Aaron, Musial, Feller, Spahn, Berra, Ford, Brock, Palmer, Gibson, B. Robinson, Banks, Lemon, Marichal, Killebrew, Rizzuto, Mathews, Neikro, Hunter, Mize, Oliva, and showcasing (# 100) Roger Maris (rating 9/10) on page 309. Comes with a wooden plaque of a signed portrait of Maris’ (so-called) rival and respected teammate, Mickey Mantle. The plaque shows Mantle sitting in the dugout, charming smile on his face, with autograph (8/10) jotted across his chest, and photo protected by plastic surface. Placard reads, “Mickey Mantle, Triple Crown Year, September 16, 1956 Boston, Mass". Autographs in book range from 8-9/10, and are mostly signed in Sharpie, and some in ball-point. LOA included.
