Braulio Baeza Race Used Saddle For Foolish Pleasure/Dr. Fager and Others
This saddle can make a legitimate claim to having been part of some of the great moments in thoroughbred racing history. Noted jockey Braulio Baeza was chosen to ride Foolish Pleasure in the July 6, 1975 match race against Ruffian and this is the saddle he used on the winning horse on that fateful day. He also used this same saddle on Dr. Fager when he set the world record for a mile in the 1968 Washington Park Handicap, on Buckpasser during his champion two-year old campaign, and on Arts & Letters in winning the 1969 Belmont Stakes. The very leather saddle - measuring about 16" in length at the seat, and about 20" wide across the flaps, was exhibited in the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga, NY. A true conduit of horseracing legend, it shows nice use and is in Excellent condition. Also comes with Letter of Authenticity from Baeza.
