Bruce Springsteen Handwritten Lyric Book

Bruce Springsteen Handwritten Lyric Book

Our jaws dropped when we saw this never before seen piece of Springsteen acrana, which peels back the calendar to his early writing days as a struggling songwriter. The amazing looseleaf tablet contains page after lined page of Bruce trying to write a good song as he composes lines for never-used titles like "Mountain Country", "Save Your Lovin'", "It's a Hard Hard World" and "God Knows I Love Her". Some untitled tunes are started, only to be abandoned. or lyrics written without titles. Perhaps the most telling line in the book goes: "I'm sittin' here trying to write a silly song/To make a little money to help me get along". Much of the time he apparently couldn't do that, since the last 2 pages are covered with tic-tac-toe games and the front and back covers with weird doodling. There are also notes to himself to speak at a bible class. This look into the mind of a budding genius is so revealing and personal that it's a little scary. As memorabilia goes, it's unbeatable.
