Bruce Springsteen Poster Collection (6)
A very attractive selection of six Bruce Springsteen posters, including: 1.) May 15, 1971, "1st Annual Ernie the Chicken Festival" at Newark State College, Union NJ. This scarce poster announces the second - and final - public appearance of the extremely short-lived band, Dr. Zoom & The Sonic Boom. Red on pink medium card stock, 11 1/2" x 14 1/2". Small stain at lower left, and a couple of minor scuffs, but no pinholes or missing material, rating an overall EX. This is one you won't often see; 2.) June 13, 1978 at Hancher Auditorium, Iowa City, from the "Darkness on the Edge of Town" tour. Topped by a great pensive graphic of Springsteen, the 11" x 16 3/4" poster is printed black on yellow-beige heavy paper. A small crease at the upper left and some light soiling, but no pinholes or abrasions, for an overall EX; 3.) December 24, 1971 at Rutgers University. According to "brucebase.com", this was possibly a cancelled show - or a hoax. The poster announces a performance at The Ledge by Bruce Springsteen & His Band of Elves, also featuring The Looking Glass and The Blue Babies. Whether cancelled show or a hoax, this controversial poster has become noteworthy and collectible in its own right. Red on off-white, 8" x 13 1/2", mounted and matted to 12" x 17 1/2". Some uniform abrading and spottiness, VG-EX overall; 4.) From the 1975 "Born to Run" tour, a generic poster with a blank lower section meant for insertion of local details. This large 17 1/2" x 22" poster is printed black on white paper and features the famous album cover graphic of Springsteen & his guitar. Light creases and uniformly dimpled, EX-MT overall; 5.) June 6 (year uncertain), New Orleans "The Man Comes to Dixieland". Black on beige paper, 8 1/2" x 11". Slight dogears, but no pinholes, stains or creases. EX-MT; 6.) approximate date, February, 1971, announcing an acoustic jam at "The Green Mermaid" in Asbury Park, NJ. Green on white heavy paper, 8 1/2" x 14". Dogears, light creases, minor spotting at lower left, for an overall VG-EX. A group guaranteed to please any fan.
