Cal Hubbard's 1976 Hall of Fame Induction Pin (Photo-Matched)
Cal Hubbard holds the impressive distinction of being the only person ever inducted into both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Baseball Hall of Fame. Hubbard played in the NFL from 1927 to 1936 and is credited with pioneering the position of linebacker. Unlike football, Hubbard was not given baseball's highest honor because of his exploits on the field. Instead, he made his impact on the game as an umpire and later a supervisor, and was only the fifth ump to enter the Hall of Fame at the time he was inducted. This pin is from Hubbard's 1976 induction at Cooperstown, which he wore on stage during the ceremony. The pin reads "Hall of Fame 76" with a ribbon that reads "Member." It has been photo-matched and comes from the family of Cal Hubbard.
