Casey Stengel Single Signed From The Summer of 1975 Baseball
Quite possibly one of the last baseballs signed by the Old Professor. This single signed Wilson Official Professional League baseball has been endorsed by Stengel in bold blue ball point ink "To Bill From Casey Stengel Hall Of Famer & New York Mets". It rates a solid 8 to 9 out of 10. The ball is nice and white but does have a streak of very minute brown dots visible wrapping partially around the ball and running through the words "To" and the H in "Hall". It comes with a letter of provenance from the family of the recipient "Bill" who is the man Stengel has addressed the ball to. It states that it was signed by the HOFer only months before his death in 1975 and obtained by and given to the family by Mr. Stengel's personal assistant who was a close family friend.
