Charles Ebbets Signed Contract
Ninety-one years ago, Otto Miller signed this official player's contract for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Along with Miller, club President Charles H. Ebbets affixed his signature, which is near perfect in 9/10 black fountain ink. The contract itself has some mailing folds (paper separation) and staining. None of the defects affect the Ebbets signature, however. Miller played exclusively for Brooklyn between 1910 and 1922 as a catcher. His most notable moment on the field was being tagged out as part of the only unassisted triple-play in World Series history vs. Cleveland in 1920.
