Charlie Chaplin Mutoscope Coin Operated Machine

The type of machine that graced the Nickelodeons at the top of the century and showed the earliest motion pictures and animation. This specimen dates from the 1910’s-20’s and features the brilliant ballet that is Charlie Chapin. Wonderful header at top in sheet metal shows Chaplin as his unforgettable character “The Tramp”. The sign is handpainted with gorgeous vintage photograph affixed. This is sign is 100% original and has not been altered in any way since its creation. The film is entitled “Soup Makes Music” and shows his famous soup eating scene. The machine is working and marvelous. Cast iron and metal machine is in its original red paint and is in excellent condition. This came out of a nickelodeon in the Midwest. Stands nearly six feet tall.
