Cira 1991 Bobby Holik Hartford Whalers Game Worn Jersey
Presented is a circa 1991 Bobby Holik game worn Hartford Whalers' jersey. Known as "The Geek" Holik, the center began his NHL career with the Hartford Whalers in 1990-91 and also played the 1991-92 season with the Whalers. A Czech American, Holik scored 21 goals and added 22 assists for 43 points in his first season with Hartford and scored 21 goals and had 24 assists for 45 points in his second campaign with the Whalers. Holik was traded to the New Jersey Devils and played there for ten consecutive seasons (1992-93 through 2001-02), helping the Devils to win two Stanley Cups. The 2-time All Star then played two seasons with the New York Rangers, three seasons with the Atlanta Thrashers and finished his NHL career with a final season, back with the New Jersey Devils in 2007-08. In the NHL, Holik played in 1,314 games, with 326 goals, 421 assists and 747 points. The green polyester jersey has white and blue trim. In the neck is a "CCM Maska" manufacturer's tag, with "24" on the written handwritten by an unknown hand. The lower right outer tail shows "CCM" tagging and an NHL patch. The jersey has a fight strap. The chest has a Whalers' sewn on logo, in white with blue trim. "HOLIK" is sewn on the top back, in white letters with blue trim. The back has "24" in white sewn-on numerals with blue trim, and each sleeve has "24", also in sewn-on white numerals with blue trim. The jersey exhibits great wear. There are a few repairs on the right sleeve and stick marks, and possible puck marks, throughout. There are small stains on the left sleeve and in other areas. There is a small tear in the lower right outside front white trim and some loose threads throughout. Bobby Holik played 18 NHL seasons and was well-known as a tough, two-way center, and the great game wear on this jersey, from a former WHA and NHL franchise that in 1997 became the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, makes it a fine, NHL memento.
