Circa 1950 Douglas MacArthur Single-Signed Baseball to Army Reserve (PSA)

Circa 1950 Douglas MacArthur Single-Signed Baseball to Army Reserve (PSA)

Official National League (Frick) ball signed by Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964), General of the Army for the United States. The famed general has signed the ball in blue fountain pen on a side panel, with the signature grading 6/10. This ball has a detailed history. After World War II, our consignor's father was stationed in Hawaii with the Naval Reserves. During his time on the island he had an occasion to meet MacArthur and was even luckier to have him sign a baseball for him. This ball dates from the 1949-1951 manufacturing period, so it was most likely signed by MacArthur while he was engaged in the Korean War as commander-in-chief of the United Nations Command. The ball has remained in our consignor's family since that time. This is the first MacArthur single-signed baseball we have offered and can only recall having seen one other. The ball displays two tiny blemishes and is in overall Excellent to Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA.
