Circa 1956-57 Game Worn Detroit Red Wings Jersey
This all-original Red Wings jersey was worn by either Billy McNeill or Murray Costello. Very heavy wool sweater has wheel and wings crest on the front and “19” on back and on both sleeves. McNeill played 64 games for the Red Wings in 1956-57 and Hall of Famer Murray Costello played three games wearing number 19 in 1956-57. It was the first year that numbers appeared on the sleeves. Very large sized jersey for the era. All original. At least four team repairs. Incredible condition for a wool jersey, with no tags and three dime-size holes on the left sleeve.
