Circa 1967 Chicago Blackhawks Pit Martin Worn Jacket

Circa 1967 Chicago Blackhawks Pit Martin Worn Jacket

<p>Exceptional varsity-style jacket worn by Chicago Blackhawks star Pit Martin circa 1967. Heavy weight jacket (to be expected in cold hockey rinks and Chicago winters) has a red wool body with black leather sleeves (each bearing a crossed-tomahawks logo patch), "Blackhawks CHICAGO" is on the left chest below their colorful indian-head logo. Collar has size 44, Gunzo's, and Butwin tags in collar, with a Martin's number 7 written on the Gunzos tag in blue ballpoint pen. This is the best condition we have seen for a Blackhawks jacket of this type, displaying light pilling on front and back with no holes noticed anywhere. Though not the most prolific scorer, Martin's two-way skill at the center position and overall leadership earned the Captain's "C" while in the Windy City; unfortunately, he is perhaps best remembered for being part of the lopsided trade which brought him to the Hawks in exchange for Phil Esposito (among others), who became the cornerstone of the Boston Bruins for nearly the next decade. </p>
