Circa 1970 Alex Delvecchio Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey MEARS A10

Circa 1970 Alex Delvecchio Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey MEARS A10

Alex Delvecchio was the man in the middle of one of hockey's most famous lines - the Detroit Red Wings' "Production Line". Hall of Famer Delvecchio centered for the immortal Gordie Howe and "Terrible Ted" Lindsay. On left wing, rough Lindsay had the intimidating nickname of a threatening force. On right wing was Howe, called "Mr. Hockey" by the public and "Big Guy" or "Power" by his teammates. What was Delvecchio called by his mates? "Fats." He wasn't. An outstanding playmaker is what he was. When he retired after a 24-year HL career, all with the Red Wings, he was second in NHL history with each of the following: 1,549 games played; 1,281 points; and 825 assists. Delvecchio was a part of three Stanley Cup winning teams and he was a 3-time winner of the Lady Byng Trophy. The jersey is red, with white trim. A white "10" is on each sleeve. The front of the jersey sports the traditional Red Wings' logo in red and white. A white (10) is on the right sleeve. On the back is a large (11.5") number (11). There is some bleeding from the red trim around the verso (11) onto the white numerals. It has a fight strap, which according to NHL Uniform Database, was introduced to Red Wings' jerseys in 1970. A Captain patch is on the left breast. An Olympic tag is in neck and a size 50 tag is also in the neck. The jersey also has The General tagging inside back tail. The jersey shows heavy use, with stains, most likely blood or sweat, and two team repairs. There are a few paint transfers on the sleeves. A game used jersey with great wear, of the star center of the "Production Line", one of the best-known lines in NHL history, will boost any collection. Comes with MEARS A10 LOA.
