Circa 1976 Bobby Clarke Philadelphia Flyers Game Worn Jersey
Circa 1976 Bobby Clarke game worn Philadelphia Flyers jersey. Bright orange classic road top has XL tag in neck, with Flyers crest on chest, large captain's "C" on left breast in black-on-white tackle twill, the Hall of Famer's now-retired number 16 is on both sleeves and back in bold tackle twill, name on orange plate with white letters. Shows tremendous use with sweat stains, board marks, slash marks, and even blood stains. By way of provenance, our consignor and his sister personally witnessed Clarke give this to his friend and financial advisor after a game, and that friend eventually passed this stellar keepsake to our consignor. Not only was Clarke known as one of the game's fiercest competitors in leading the Broad Street Bullies to Stanley Cup titles in 1974 and '75, but it was his violent slash to Team USSR's top player Valeri Kharlamov - breaking his opponent's ankle - which is widely considered as the turning point in Team Canada's victory in the legendary 1972 Summit Series.
