From the famous 1948 race at Belmont Park on October 16, 1948, comes this program for the Empire City Gold Cup. The 7th race was for $100,000 and the winner of course, was Citation, with Phalanx coming in second. This is the year Citation won the Triple Crown, eventually winning 16 consecutive major stakes races. Extremely desirable for all racing aficionados, the program measures 3.75x8.75" and is in EX-MT condition with no writing inside.
