Classic 1940 NFL Championship Game Program & Ticket & More (73-0)
A legend to this day, the 1940 Chicago Bears saved their best for last, trouncing the Washington Redskins for the NFL Championship by a 73-0 margin, still the largest in league history. This lot contains some great artifacts relating to that game, starting with the game program, which is in EX+ condition despite some writing on the cover indicating the season and score. A torn ticket stub has a couple of creases, and a typewritten recap is signed by five players, including Sid Luckman, McAffee, Fortmann, Turner and Musso. Last is a handwritten letter signed by George McAffee, affirming that game as his "fondest memory," along with a PS noting that, "we made $830 in that game." Each piece is remarkably well preserved and the autographs on the recap include a COA from PSA/DNA.
