Complete Set of Living Legends by Sports Illustrated Signed Prints in Original Frames (12)
A rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at a complete set of twelve “Living Legends” limited edition hand signed prints from Sport Illustrated. This highly desirable set was started in 1974 and has taken 25 years to put together. Presented in their original frames (some with original boxes) - includes Joe DiMaggio (1300/1500), Jack Dempsey & Gene Tunney (553/1500), Stan Musial (251/1000), Arnold Palmer (631/1500), Red Grange (224/1000), John Havlicek & Wilt Chamberlain (56/1000), Jack Nicklaus (226/1000), Billie Jean King (108/1000), Johnny Unitas (1125/1500), Eddie Arcaro (613/1500), Rod Lavor (386/1000), & Joe Louis & Max Schmeling (179/1500). This Dempsey / Tunney print is the Sept. 22, 1927 fight, one of the legendary all time battles. This was the second meeting between these two fighters and it proved to be a savage struggle, capped by the controversial “long count” in the 7th round. Dempsey knocked Tunney down, then failed to go to a neutral corner, allowing Tunney to recover and go on to win the Championship. Each one signed in pencil on the bottom white border, and each one comes with attached photo on back, showing the athletes during the limited edition signings. That’s 15 genuine pencil signatures from some of the most important names in sports. This incredible group will never be duplicated, as many of these athletes are no longer living. A complete set of 12 prints was sold at auction a few years ago for $14,000 (not in original frames). This unprecedented complete set offered in original frames will most likely never be seen again.
