A beautiful inscription and signature rests within his famous biography, "Connie Mack, Grand Old Man of Baseball," by Frederick Lieb. In black fountain ink on the reverse side of his portrait page before the title, it reads: "Master Marshall Gaines Burchard, With best wishes for a long and happy life is the wish of Connie Mack."
