Cooperstown Original Blueprints and Proposed Lou Gehrig Memorial Drawings (16 pieces)

Cooperstown Original Blueprints and Proposed Lou Gehrig Memorial Drawings (16 pieces)

From architect Harry St. Clair Zogbaum, the 1937 collection includes the six black negatives used to create the blueprints and six corresponding blueprints on white paper for the Baseball Hall of Fame. All of the following come with both black and white counterparts: a great artist rendering of the building by Grayville Rickard, five architectural drawings, a cross section, front and rear elevations and facade. The artist rendering measures 20.5”x14” and the rest measure 15”x13” In addition we have four matted sketches in color pencil from the same architect in 1950 of a proposed Lou Gehrig memorial at Cooperstown. Three of the pieces are quite similar and show the somber memorial at the end of an outdoor corridor. The fourth shows a detail of the plaque that would have been placed there. All the pieces measure 9”x13” with the original matting (15”x20”)and are signed by the architect. This is a tremendous collection for sports fans and architecture buffs alike.
