CSG Graded Sports Illustrated Presents #nn Time Inc. February 16, 2005 Graded 9.6
As Tom Brady, defying Father Time, prepares to return to the Tampa Bay Bucs for yet another NFL season (his 23) in 2022, interest in "all things Brady" has never been higher. The acknowledged pro football GOAT has won seven Super Bowls, - six with New England and one (after the 2020 season) with Tampa Bay. He holds all-time NFL records for, among many things: passing completions (7,263); passing yards (84,520); and touchdown passes (624). Presented is a special Feb. 16, 2005, Super Bowl Commemorative issue of Sports Illustrated with a smiling, victorious Tom Brady pictured on the cover. In an interesting touch, the back cover of the magazine features the image of a clenched hand, with three of the four fingers showing the dates of the three-out-of-four Super Bowl winning seasons: 2001, 2003, and 2004. In Super Bowl XXXIX, Brady's New England Patriots were playing the Philadelphia Eagles at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Patriots were seeking their third Super Bowl win in four years, something only done once before - by the 1992-95 Dallas Cowboys. New England won 24-21. Brady completed 23 of 33 passes for 236 yards, with two TD passes, no interceptions and a quarterback rating of 110.2. The Commemorative Issue (measuring approx. 8" x 10.4") has an article by E.M. Swift titled "Welcome to Trophytown", and another story by Peter King titled "10 Steps to Greatness". The magazine has been encapsulated and graded CGC 9.6. This very rare Brady tribute magazine is CGC Pop 6, NONE higher!
