Cy Young Cut Signature (JSA)
Presented is a Cy Young cut signature on a lined side of paper. Young has the most wins of any pitcher in Major League history. The Inaugural Hall of Famer pitched for six Major League teams, from 1890-1911, mostly for the National League's Cleveland Spiders (nine seasons) and the American League's Boston Red Sox (eight seasons). Young had a lifetime record of 511-315, with a career ERA of 2.63. The cut paper measures approx. 2.8x5.9". Young wrote his signature in blue ink from a ballpoint pen. Young's signature comes with a 4x6" envelope with handwriting in blue ink from a fountain pen, written in an unknown hand, that is addressed to Tom Brett, with the name and town address of Cy Young on the back of the envelope, also written in blue ink with a fountain pen by an unknown hand. The cut signature exhibits toning, and the cut has a few small paper tears. The item comes with a full JSA LOA for the signature, CERT.# YY16448.
