Cy Young Three-Page Handwritten Letter
Written as only Cy Young could, in that unmistakable hand. Get a glimpse into the personal life of the man to which all pitchers after him would be measured against. Dated March 4, 1951 written to friend, Reid Hubbard, letter refers to his birthday party at the Elks club, to which he was a member, talks of his trip to Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, & Boston, and splitting wood (not the average activity for an 80-year-old man), signed “Cy”. An opportunity to own such a personal piece does not present itself often. Second page has a tear at the bottom, which is easily fixed. Letter is creased twice to fit envelope, in excellent condition with only slight toning.
