Dan Topping Yankees / AAFC Dodgers Photos from SFX Archives (35)
Dan Topping was part owner and president of the baseball NY Yankees and NFL Brooklyn Dodgers franchises. He wanted to move the Brooklyn football team to Yankee Stadium but Tim Mara, Giants owner would not permit it. So he ultimately moved the Dodgers to the new upstart AAFC league and the New York Yankees football team was born. This photo collection (35) chronicles those events and depicts Topping with many of the major players of the day including George Weiss, Charles Comiskey, Jim Crowley, John Keeshin, Del Webb, Will Harridge, Hank Greenberg, Casey Stengel and Buddy Young. Photos range in size from 5" x 7" to 8 1/2" x 11". They range in condition from VG-NRMT with many being EX.
