Darryl Strawberry is seen as a tragic sports figure, but he has accomplished many things in baseball that most players will never achieve. It all started with the 1986 World Champion New York Mets. Strawberry would go on to collect 4 championship rings in all (3 with the Yankees) and become one of the most adored players in the history of New York. Collection of 2 bats, a batting helmet, a cap and 2 jerseys is all vintage Darryl Strawberry: 1. 1983 Tidewater Tides Game Worn Jersey. Worn for the 1983 Playoffs and signed on front with “1983 #5.” Left sleeve bears the “International Baseball League” 100th anniversary patch. “Medalist Sand-Knit” tag on back tail with [size] “L” flag tag. 2. New York Mets home white pinstripe pullover. “Mets 18” on front and “Strawberry 18” on verso in blue on orange knit lettering. “Rawlings” embroidered in white on right sleeve. Signed on front below his number in blue felt tip. Tagging inside front tail is “Rawlings [size] 42” with “18 PO87” embroidered on plate below and “2 inch extra length” printed on plate to left. 3. Playoffs used 1984-85 Mets batting helmet. Signed in silver felt tip on visor, missing number on back. 4. Mets New Era cap with his number “18” under visor. 5. Blonde Rawlings Adirondack P302 (35”). Black felt tip signature on barrel. “18” written at both ends. “179 7 113A 139 7” stamped on knob. 6. Dark brown Louisville S2 signature model (34”). Signed in silver felt tip. All show nice use.
