Dave Roberts Professional Baseball Player Collection from Japan
A great collection of memorabilia of Baseball player Dave Roberts. After facing hurdles in the 1950’s and 1960’s in American leagues due to management’s practice of sidelining black players, he went to Japan to play with the Sankei Atoms in 1967. His playing career took off and he was playing in his first all star game in 1968. The collection includes a commemorative plaque and trophy from the 1968 all-star game as well as a trophy. Also included is an original Atoms uniform of #5 Roberts in very good condition with minimal yellowing of the fabric and a 1969 commemorative plaque.
