December 15. 1962 Ticket
A historic event as the first-ever "Mersey Beat Poll Awards" and charity dinner was held with the Beatles receiving a trophy from editor, Bill Harry, prior to their taking the stage at 4am to close the event with a live performance. The recently ousted Pete Best, now a member of the runner-up band, Lee Curtis and the All-Stars, crossed the Beatle's paths as his band descended the stage giving way to the Beatles. The well-worn ticket, originally the property of Pete Best, comes with a copy of the Sotheby's London catalog page depicting the ticket. Scalloped edges. 4 1/2" x 3 1/2".
