Race worn bib from all time great DeeDee Jonrowe, one of the legends of the sport after having raced for 23 years and recording the fastest times ever for a female racer as well as the most top 10 finishes. The racing bib was worn for the 2001 Iditarod, and is complete with nylon straps, decaled on both sides with the number and endorsements, signed on the front: "May God richly bless your trails, DeeDee Jonrowe." The Iditarod is considered to be one of the toughest sporting events in existence, as its competitors race over a 1000 mile stretch of frozen tundra from Anchorage to Nome. A breast cancer survivor, DeeDee has campigned tirelessly for such groups as the American Cancer Society and the Susan B. Koman Foundation. All of the proceeds from the sale of this piece will benefit the organization, Team Survivor Alaska, dedicated to funding the aid of breast cancer survivors.
