Detroit Stars Negro League Game Worn Uniform
Talk about unearthing a buried treasure! Found in the same house once owned by manager V.L. Wilson, comes this Detroit Stars Negro League uniform that is accompanied by a copy of a letter to Wilson. This appears to be from the early 1950s. A copy of a photo of a Stars player wearing a similar jersey and sitting alongside Jackie Robinson is also included with the lot. The grey jersey was likely worn in road games and has red felt "Detroit" in script across the front. Number "13" is in the same red felt on the back. Wilson size 40 tagging in the collar. 100% original and shows nice use. The pants have the same Wilson tagging in the waist band and are size 36. Number "13" is also written in laundry marker in the waist band. Matching red and gray leggins are included. The scarcity of an item such as this cannot be understated.
