Dizzy Gillespie by Alan Grant
A young Dizzy Gillespie stands at the microphone with trumpet in-hand in this Alan Grant photograph. The 5.5x9" silver print has a photographer's stamp and other stamps/notations on the verso, but is not specifically dated. Photo was likely taken in the late 1940s, given Dizzy's age. Contains several creases, but is otherwise in EX condition. Gillespie was a pioneer in Jazz music, popularizing the "Bebop" style of music, and was an accomplished trumpet-player, singer, band-leader and composer.
