Dominik Hasek Buffalo Sabres Equipment (5)
Splendid selection of items from one of the greatest ever to patrol between the pipes, Dominik Hasek. A six-time winner of the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's best goalie and two-time Stanley Cup champ, The Dominator is best remembered for his acrobatic playing style which often included making impossible saves by doing "snow angels" in the crease, as well as being one of the last goalies to forego the form-fitting masks for the less common birdcage-style. 1) Jofa helmet with cage was use by Hasek in practice by Hasek but he did not like it and it was never worn in a game, though it shows nice use. 2) Practice jersey is a size 58 with logo sewn on front and "39" screened on back. 3) Bauer skates were made for him but an extra pair that shows no use. 4) Stick is a game issue that shows no use but has the Hall of Famer's large signature on the paddle. 5) Sabres equipment bag shows lots of use. With his 2014 induction, Hasek carries the distinction of being the first native of the Czech Republic in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
