Don Drysdale "HOF 1984" Single Signed Baseball (PSA 8 Auto)
"I hate all hitters until the game is over," said Hall of Fame righthander Don Drysdale about his relationship with hitters. Drysdale pitched for 14 seasons, all with the Dodgers starting in 1956 with Brooklyn and then with the Dodgers when they moved to Los Angeles in 1958. His intimidation of hitters was legendary. "My little rule was two for one," said Drysdale. "If one of my teammates got knocked down, then I knocked down two on the other team." The 6'5" hard thrower won 209 games, with a lifetime ERA of 2.83. He was a 9-time All-Star, pitched on three Dodger World Championship teams, and won a Cy Young Award. He was a good hitting pitcher who hit 29 career homers and was sometimes used as a pinch hitter. During the 1960s, he teamed with Sandy Koufax to give Los Angeles an incredible one-two pitching punch. After his playing career, Don became a broadcaster. Drysdale has signed and inscribed the Official National League baseball (Bill White) on the sweet spot as "Don Drysdale HOF 1984". The baseball is in excellent condition. Enclosed is a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity that classifies the signature as "AUTHENTIC" and rates the signature as 8.
