Doug Bentley's 1950 NHL All Star Game Worn Sweater
Doug Bentley was known as a "complete" player. Although he weighed only 145 pounds during his heyday, he had tremendous speed and was a natural goal scorer. Best known as a member of the "Pony Line" in Chicago with his brother Max and Bill Mosienko. This wool wonder was worn by Doug during the 1950 NHL All Star Game in Detroit. Chenile crest with “NHL 1950” on the front with five white felt stars sewn above. Blue & white stripe design spans the shoulders and down each sleeve. Verso holds the number “7” in blue on white felt numbers with five more white stars above. Tagging inside front left tail is “McNiece’s" of Montreal. Displays light use with a number of smaller unobtrusive holes, some of which have been repaired. This attractive and eye-catching sweater displays quite nicely! Obtained directly from the family, with their signed Letter of Provenance.
