Remarkable collection of 19 window cards from silent films, early talkies and some plays from the 1920s. Graphics are marvelous as some are stone litho and all are GORGEOUS! Six are signed by Lou Mayer one of the great illustrators from the early part of the century. These have been chose from a much larger collection based on titles and subject matter. Includes 10 films: Me, Gangster (Raoul Walsh directed with gangster subject matter - 1928), Mack Sennett’s The Goodbye Kiss (1928), Hit of the Show with gorgeous image of Joe E. Brown (1928), Dark Streets (1929 - haunting graphics, tear), Frank Borzage’s Street Angel (amazing submissive image of Janet Gaynor - comic book colors - 1928), Words and Music (“All Talking All Singing Movietone” - 1929), The River Pirate (great Victor McLaglen pirate graphics - 1928), Brotherly Love (awesome football graphics - 1926 - Good), two local bills (same format) with just titles no graphics (a) John Gilbert Four Walls and Charlie’s brother Syd Chaplin in Skirts. b) Colleen Moore in Oh Kay! Plus there are nine 1920s theater posters with tempting graphics: two of Nervous Wreck (theater play with automotive graphics), Plain Jane (wonderful flapper), 7th Heaven (very Joan of Arc), Little Jesse James (vamp graphics), two of Little Nellie Kelly (great flapper), two of Sarah Bernhard’s version of Camille (no graphics). 14x 22" cardboard window cards are overall EX with major problems listed. From a recent find they are overall fresh and new. Some incredibly rare and historically important material.
