This offering is an Eddie Germano 1975 Boston Red Sox American League Champions original drawing. This artwork features the original drawing and supplemental acetate covering that adds the red overtones to the piece. An unusual piece that features a seldom-seen striped Red Sox mascot. It has some pencil notations in the margins and is in EX condition. Eddie Germano was born in Boston on November 15th, 1924. He started working at age 16 for the Boston Post before a stint in the US Army. After the military, he worked in several newspapers until 1968 when he joined the Brockton Enterprise where he began a career in sports cartooning. Germano is best known for his Boston Globe work which began in 1971 and he is famous for his sports cartoons featuring Hall of Fame members and Boston area sports icons.
