Eddie Germano Babe Ruth "The Babe" Original Artwork

A one-of-a-kind pen and ink original drawing on artist board depicting Babe Ruth and his recent passing. The drawing is dated November 1949 and is partially colorized using blue and red tones. The drawing is a fantastic rendering of the Yankee legend and is in VG-EX condition with some minor toning and corner wear. Eddie Germano was born in Boston on November 15th, 1924. He started working at age 16 for the Boston Post before a stint in the US Army. After the military, Germano worked in several newspapers until 1968 when he joined the Brockton Enterprise where he began a career in sports cartooning. Germano is best known for his Boston Globe work which began in 1971 and he is famous for his sports cartoons featuring Hall of Fame members and Boston area sports icons.
