Eddie Murray 500 Home Run Ticket PSA NM-MT 8
Time was running out for Eddie Murray. About halfway through the 1996 season, he had been sent from the Cleveland Indians back to his first Major League team, the Baltimore Orioles. Murray was getting close to 500 home runs, and he was 40 years old, so it seems obvious that the Orioles wanted Murray back with the team he was with for his first 12 seasons so that he could reach that coveted 500 home run mark with Baltimore. Murray was at DH in the Orioles' lineup at home at Camden Yards against the Detroit Tigers in the Sept. 8, 1996, game. He began the game with 499 homers. Then, in the bottom of the 7th, Murray hit a pitch to deep right center off Felipe Lira for his 500th homer, in that time practically a ticket to Cooperstown. Murray hit only 4 more career homers after the 500th' blast, but the magic 500 homer mark was quite enough as in 2003 he became a Hall of Famer. The ticket comes with a 500 Home Run envelope. The ticket has been encapsulated and graded PSA NM-MT 8.
