Ellsworth Vines Vintage Tennis Photos from SFX Archives (68)
Ellsworth Vines was a 1930's tennis champion having taken the U.S. Open twice, in 1931 and 1932, as well as Wimbledon in 1932. This collection of SF Examiner photos (68) includes many photos related to those victories as well as his many other tournament triumphs. Prints range in size from 2" x 5" to 8" x 10 1/2". Conditions range from VG to EX-MT with many EX. Newspaper edit markings are on several and caption sheets exist for the vast majority. Vines is photographed with many well known players including Henri Cochet, Helen Jacobs, Sarah Palfrey, Keith Gledhill, Jack Crawford, George Lott, Fred Perry and many others.
