Exceptional Albert Einstein Wire Photographs including Theory of Relativity (59)
Incredible unpicked wire photo archive dating from the late 1920's to the early 1930's. Unique collection of fifty-nine (59) original wire service photographs of Albert Einstein includes content on the Theory of Relativity. Most have dated captions affixed to the reverse side, describing in considerable detail the events and personages pictured. Of special interest are photos of Einstein with a group of Nobel Prize winners including Sinclair Lewis; a photo of Einstein with astronomer Charles E. St. John, in front of the equipment with which St. John first identified the red shift in the solar spectrum, the first physical confirmation of Einstein's Theory of Relativity; Einstein presenting a manuscript copy of his Theory of Relativity to Princeton University; with NYC Mayor Jimmy Walker. Many photos include Mrs. Einstein and other family members, and a few show Einstein indulging in his other passions, holding a camera in Havana Harbor, a favorite violin following his concert performance in Berlin. These wonderful black and white photos range in size from 6" x 8" to 8" x 10". Overall condition is EX+.
